The ruling Mongolian People's Party is executing a targeted political realignment. Prime Minister Gombojavyn Zandanshatar and Speaker Nyam-Osoryn Uchral are actively dismantling the network of former Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene who stepped down in 2025.

Oyun-Erdene’s former followers have largely faded. Most switched allegiance to the new leadership or remain muted. The most active loyalists, however, are cornered. The new leadership weaponizes the exact legal tools Oyun-Erdene once used against his own rivals.
