Ruling MPP Backs Zandanshatar for Next Prime Minister

The Mongolian People’s Party has voted on Monday (June 9) to nominate Presidential Chief of Staff Gombojav Zandanshatar as the next Prime Minister.

Under the law, the President must submit the nomination to Parliament within five days, after which lawmakers will vote to confirm the appointment.

With his close ties to the president of Mongolia and extensive experience as a former parliament speaker, cabinet chief of staff, and foreign minister, Zandanshatar is well-equipped for the role.
