Prime Minister Nyam-Osoryn Uchral launched the 100,000 homes programme on October 21, promising the homes by 2030, 40,000 of them built by the state.

The launch left one question open, who gets the 40,000 state homes. More than half are reserved for ger district households, with no down payment and land counted toward the price.

No down payment does not mean a household chooses its flat. The PM promises open and transparent selection. Housing Minister Enkhtaivany Bat-Amgalan says the criteria and allocation procedure still have to be defined in detail, selection will run through the commercial banks. The programme lands ahead of the 2027 presidential and 2028 parliamentary elections.
