How Stable Is Uchral’s Government?

On April 3, Prime Minister Nyam-Osoryn Uchral introduced his new cabinet with promises of economic liberation.

The cabinet is a carefully engineered truce. Uchral kept experienced ministers in core policy portfolios, including Economy, Mining and Foreign Affairs. But his real masterstroke was absorbing the rival faction.
He brought loyalists of former Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene into the fold. Simultaneously, he moved controversial ex-Justice Minister Battumuryn Enkhbayar to the Cabinet Secretariat. This administrative parking job blocks or at least diverts Enkhbayar from launching criminal probes against internal rivals.
By trading posts for peace, Uchral muted the factions that derailed the previous government.
The opposition Democratic Party forced this exact alignment through a brilliant, long-term game.
