Bayartsetseg Terbish

Bayartsetseg Terbish earned her PhD from Ghent University, focusing on the lived citizenship of ger residents in Ulaanbaatar, examining themes of social inequality, belonging, and aspirations. She is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Sociology and Social Work at the National University of Mongolia and an Associate Research Fellow at UNU-CRIS.


With extensive practical experience working with internal migrants in Ulaanbaatar, Bayartsetseg's research interests include migrants' adaptation strategies, social exclusion, and engagement in social policy. She has led multiple inter-university projects on social work, social policy, and migration.


At UNU-CRIS, she collaborates with Dr. Ine Lietaert in the Migration and Social Policy Cluster, focusing on integrating migrants' knowledge into climate adaptation strategies to address urban climate change impacts.
